Several 5-star hotels in Hangzhou, Zhejiang have said they will stop serving shark's fin in a bid to protect wild animals. The decision has been welcomed by customers, xinhuanet.com reported. According to a statement made by the Hangzhou Dragon Hotel, it "will no longer serve any shark fin dishes of any sort." The hotel has sold 300 kg shark fin in the last year, which is equivalent to an income of about RMB6m. Hangzhou Shangri-La Hotel also says shark fin dishes are off the menu.
