The whole KISS thing was going to be a one off show in Jersey. Rachel's side project at the time, Prunella Scales, was booked to play at some club the same night. Rachel wouldn't cancel so Skid Row could do the gig. This got Bach infuriated so he called both Snake and Rachel and left some pretty nasty messages on their answering machines. Bas wasn't actually fired right then. The band hadn't been getting along at all. The Subhuman Race album was a very stressful period. Bas was pissed that his father's art wasn't going to be used for the cover, the band was pissed because Bas was trying to take over the creative aspects of the band. When Bas received some rough demos for what would've been the next Skid Row album, he called Snake and Rachel and told them he thought the material absolutely sucked, they told him he'd have to quit the band then. Bas told them there was no fucking way he was quitting, so just a day or 2 before Christmas 96, Bas got fired.
As far as Rachel refusing to cancel the Prunella Scales show so Skid Row could open that show for KISS, he said he couldn't do it just to please one man's already out of control ego.
I like the guys in Skid Row. They've always been very nice to my wife and I. They've never hesitated to answer any of my questions. Although I can tell that Rachel would be happy to never have to speak about Bach again.
