An angel materialized from a moon beam and sang me her
sweet songs in the cool shade of her own moon shadow. Others soon added their
voices in perfect harmony. I’d been praying for a sangha to sing with, kirtan
specifically, to get lost in translation and now in all ways it surrounds me. I
am sung.

Chanting anything for 20 minutes or more will
hypnotize you. And if you think this is strange, notice how we might chant
negative mantras to ourselves all the time in the form of I’m Late. I’m Tired.
I’m No Good. Etc. And since what we love is what we become, our made-up faults
keep coming back around. Our chanting anything is a form of worship. I can
attest that I sometimes give negative thoughts too much of my time and
attention.

at once and we learn how to dance together quickly. By chanting a sound
sculpted of peace with words intended to be God’s many names, I escape –
usually thru an open window and onto a zip line over an emotional landscape,
that of a beautiful world free of suffering, with plenty of parking, fresh
juice and metaphorical nudity, some might call it Heaven.

On stage, with a 6 stringed piece of the earth in my
hands and particles of sky entering my mouth, salt water pouring of my flesh
and fire racing up and down my spine, I sing wholly, guided by my own inner
angels with equal parts demon, and I am afforded my VIP meet and greet passes
enabling me to make-out with The Divine. I lose myself in concert and having
had a sample of this spiritual sex keeps me coming back again and again. This
is what REALLY inspires me. This is my drug of choice. This immaculate craving
is what drives me to make more music, that which I can serve at the next dinner
with God and all of her hot friends, namely You.

From the full moon high in the sky in Cancer this
mid-July I am invited to consider leaving this Freshness Factor Forum. It has
served me well for many years and was indeed a space for all of it. I
appreciate the gracious communication found in every strip of new comments. I
marvel how the community has grown in the sub pages of our little black book
with the rotating header and I thank you thank you thank you for being a friend
and fan, someone who reaffirms my feeling accepted. And now, thanks to an
abundance of love generated within, I am filled up and I choose to no longer
seek acceptance. I have seen how much of my expression has been for that
purpose. Young men start playing guitar to meet girls. Or we start smoking
cigarettes to fit in. The same goes for myriad ways we show up in the world. I
acknowledge those miracles and now step into a new practice of fulfillment. As
this full moon wanes - I too will walk away towards renewal. FF5000 will
continue to reside at this address, but there may be no one home for awhile. A
new expression for these thoughts will be birthed in due time.

The angel whom I’ll refer to as Emily, awoke sleeping
cells and brought to life forgotten friends while calling forth new ones from
the ether. She sang into my window from heaven’s patio and invited me to come
out to play. The same way she effortless drew a smile across our faces, she
drew words. I swooned in awe under the moon, at home inside my familiar body of
a home, welcoming peace beneath the sheets of my skin. I’d been waiting for
this moment to come.
