You ask me my opinion. Well here we go.
Education is the silver bullet. It is everything. We don't need small changes; we need fundamental, instrumental, monumental changes. Schools should be palaces. Schools should pay six-figure salaries. Schools should be like national defense: incredibly expensive for the government and absolutely free for citizens.
We want the most capable and talented building bridges and curing cancers, but what about those who nurture souls, those who we put in positions to influence our future? I want the best of the best, the brightest of the brightest, the passionate of passionates to be teaching.
The world is not fair, but opportunities should be. Children should grow up knowing regardless their race, gender, or social status, they have a fighting chance if they work hard enough. That is the ideology upon which this nation was built and upon which this nation will thrive. The key is EDUCATION.
THAT is my stand.
