Summer has finally arrived in Stockholm and the majority of our team will take a short break to rest and recharge their batteries before we kick off the second half of the year. It will be a busy time, with the biggest new addition to theHunter: Call of the Wild drawing closer. While a few developers will remain in the studio to continue work on the game, please expect slightly longer response times, and for our live streams to take a two week break.

Looking back at our first 150 days - 20 patches (one almost every week), 18 streams, 3 free DLCs and 2 paid ones have been released since release, so let’s reflect on this hunting journey we’ve embarked on together. First,we could not be happier having you as part of our rapidly growing community. The forums and social media channels are bustling with ideas, feedback and suggestions for the future as well as stories about taking down that legendary piebald Moose. Throughout all of these interactions, you have told us know what you like (and what you don’t like!) and we’ve been tweaking our plans accordingly. Together, we keep working toward an even better hunting experience, and surrounding community.

In last week’s stream, we showcased the upcoming features of Patch 1.10, including improved multiplayer progression, customizable colors for active & inactive tracks, a new chat and more.

We decided to go for “bigger is better” instead of releasing multiplayer progression first, followed by a bug-fixing heavy patch afterwards. So our next update will be a clean-up of many different issues experienced in multiplayer and we will roll it out altogether in the patch. Quality assurance and flawless execution will be crucial for this release so we are taking more time to get it right. Monitoring the patch once it is out will be equally important so expect a release when the team is back in full force in August.

Before we wrap this up, we have a small treat for you - we’ve taken to heart a frequent piece of feedback, calling for a chance to get to know the development team a little better. In this mini documentary, we bring you along to some of our favorite outdoor spots around Stockholm. We talk about developing theHunter: Call of the Wild, try to pinpoint what makes the experience so different from most other games where you wield a weapon, and shoot some actual trap. Here you’ll get a face to some of the names working tirelessly on the game, including Anna Bouveng (Executive Producer), Pim Holfve (CEO of Avalanche Studios) and yours truly. We had a lot of fun being out in the wild filming this, and we hope you enjoy the glimpse into our philosophy of development.
